The big day has finally arrived for Twihards. The third film in the blockbuster series "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" is now playing in theaters. To celebrate the release of the latest installment, MakingOf's homepage carousel is dedicated today to featuring our exclusive content from the film including interviews with Director David Slade, Writer Melissa Rosenberg and Producer Wyck Godfrey. We've also included our exclusive Filmmaker Favorites interview where they answer your questions about their favorite scenes.
The latest addition to our continuing in-depth Twilight coverage is an interview with visual effects guru Phil Tippett, who oversaw a team of artists that brought The Wolf Pack to life. MakingOf recently visited Tippett Studios in Berkeley, CA to speak with Tippett about his team's work on believably transforming humans into wolves "the size of horses" on screen.
During our exclusive interview, Tippett reveals that the artists used a prop called "the potato" to simulate a wolf while filming and he also talks to us about how Taylor Lautner wore a gray leotard when filming scenes that involve his character Jacob Black as a wolf. He describes in detail how the visual effects crew were able to transform humans into wolves in 12 frames (.5 of a second) and gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at how the final fight sequence was choreographed.
